Hello, My name is Shravan Baliga. I am Studying Computer science engineering in St. Joseph engineering college. I have always been an above average student and also into extra-curricular activities. I used to work in theatre in the evening after I finished my classes. Now I have got placed in few of the well-known companies. My mom is a beedi laborer, my dad passed away when I was 15 and my mother is taking care of me and my brother since then. She met with an accident in 2014 and It was really difficult for us to lead life after that. But I was good at studies and I had got 94% in PU and a decent CET rank to get into some of the good colleges in Mangalore.
As I was good in studies, my mother had applied to various institutions for scholarship and I am really thankful for the other institutions for providing me scholarships but I was not able to pay the college fees with the scholarship price. When we had applied to Bombay GSB scholarship, we met this amazing lady called Geeta Pai who suggested us to apply for Ajit Prabhu foundation. As soon as she suggested us this trust, we sent an application to the trust.
No other institutions or trusts had helped us the way Prabhu trust did. It not only gave us financial support but also motivated the students and gave a moral support. Prabhu trust helped us by paying the full college fee. That is not the only help, Ajit sir used to have session where he used to guide us on what steps to take if there is any problem in the future. He was a guiding light to me and many of us.
Ajit Prabhu foundation was guiding light for our family. There was a time where it was difficult for us to lead life, but the foundation helped us in overcoming that. The foundations support was a moral booster for us. It filled us with passion on what to do in the future and also telling us that they will be with us for the longest time. I have not seen any other foundation doing this. Ajit Sir spoke to us personally telling us what other steps that can be taken and cleared all my doubts. I am graduating this year and I am placed in a good company. This not only helps me but also my whole family. Thank you for doing this.
About reaching to other needy students, it can more of word of mouth, where each beneficiary from the foundation can inform their friends and relatives about this.
