The Ajit Prabhu Foundation was established in 2016 and since inception has been able to sponsor education of over 291 underprivileged capable students in numerous fields of study.
Dr. Ajit Prabhu had humble beginnings in the city of Hubli, where he grew up amongst two brothers Ajay and Avinash, his mother Smt. Shalini and father Shri Aravind Prabhu. His primary education was in a Kannada medium, Junior Technical Government school. With his hard work and dedication, Ajit managed to travel to America on a scholarship and went on to attend Old Dominion University for his graduation. He later finished his second MS at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Ajit’s passion for engineering and sheer determination pushed him to work through the difficulties to establish Quest Global, which now has 12000+ employees around the globe.
Now having reached the realms of life Ajit is highly committed to giving back to the society and in making a positive impact to change lives. The Ajit Prabhu Foundation aims to sponsor youth and thereby grant them an opportunity to receive higher education in both the primary and secondary sectors. Based on the need of the hour the Foundation is committed to help the underprivileged and support the needy.
Ajit’s inspiration
The Ajit Prabhu Foundation derives its inspiration from the lives of the Prabhu family headed by Shri Aravind Prabhu and his wife Smt Shalini Prabhu. Having started his life in extremely poor conditions Shri Aravind Prabhu kept the light of knowledge alive in his life inspite of having the responsibilities of bringing up a family and facing adverse situations right from his childhood days. He became a tenth and twelfth pass by educating himself after his work hours attending evening school and appearing for his PUC exams on his own grit and then became a Graduate when he was in his twenties. He further pursued his dream to study and work towards becoming successful lawyer. All this was achieved as he was bringing up a family of his wife and three boys and also bringing up his siblings. He stands as a stalwart to prove that nothing is impossible and his journey is well balanced by Smt Shalini Prabhu who has supported and stood by him through all adversities.
Their children Ajay, Ajit and Avinash through their humble beginnings got educated in Kannada medium Government schools. They were provided with the basic education till their graduation in Engineering (Ajay and Ajit) and Medical (Avinash). Ajit has always thought of education as the highest tier to achievement, therefore yearns to provide for bright yet underprivileged children. Ajay and Ajit travelled to US to complete their Masters but this too was on their own merit with hardly any financial backing.
